Vision of My Soul

We hear albums often of violin and cello with full orchestra but rarely do we hear what magical music the viola can bring to light the world.

I had wanted to do an album of my own for quite some time. I have been in recording sessions for other musicians albums, video games, film scores, and more for over 25 years. The past 8 years I have had an extra desire to share my testimony through music. Last November when I crossed paths with a good friend of mine, Shane Mickelsen, whom I had done work with in the past with Stone Angel music and Paul Cardall, I was elated when he agreed the timing worked for both of us to start this album together!

I knew Shane’s work was most exceptional and inspiring, that he would be the perfect person to bring my testimony to life through his orchestrations and musical talent in all facets of musical knowledge that brings about the vision I had to share my heart and soul with anyone who needed to feel closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior like music does for me! Enjoy the music and I hope you feel the magic of the spirit of the messages of each piece!

"This is a beautiful album. I'm not surprised that Rebecca, a favorite among her peers, had so many remarkable musicians line up to be a part of this project. You can not only hear Rebecca's love for the music through her performances, but also the musicians' love for Rebecca."

Recently, Chuck E. Meyers, the Lead Orchestrator of Hogwarts Legacy from big idea music productions inc studios, contacted me and asked asked me to be the violist for the overture music video and recording session for Warner Brothers new Harry Potter video game. When I congratulated him on the choice of the viola to start out the entire overture, he said “Yes! It was very intentional in that the viola is like the forgotten step child who lives in a hidden room under the stairs but is center of all the magic that everyone else is built upon and in the end, after developing his potential and discovering who he is and what he can do, becomes the Hero and saves the day!”

This was an amazing project to be a part of. I told Chuck he was inspired to call me for this part for I happen to have a Harry Potter scar on my forehead from getting kicked by a horse when I was 10 years old up at our farm in the middle of the bright night of a full moon. My gravitation to the magical horses across the street from our farm house was an adventure I took that night and also helped build my foundation of my testimony that we never walk alone. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus are always there for us. I have always called my scar my permanent smile on my face and a reminder that God knows when we are in need and with his army of guardian angels, blessings, prayer, and his will, miracles take place anywhere and everywhere!
